Social Awareness Club organized a Blood Donation Program

 

Social Awareness Club under the direction of Directorate of Students’ Welfare (DSW) organized a Blood Donation Program in cooperation with the Quantum Foundation on 22 November 2017. Prof. Dr. Jamilur Reza Choudhury, Vice Chancellor inaugurated the day-long donation program as hief guest. In his speech, he highlighted on creating awareness among the students and the society as a whole about the values of voluntary blood donation.

Air Cdre (Retd.) Ishfaq Ilahi Choudhury, Director, DSW, Mr. Sarwar Razzaq Chowdhury, Registrar, Professor Dr. Mohiduddin Ahmed Bhuiyan, Head, Department of Pharmacy, Md. Tarek Khan, Assistant Director, DSW, faculty members and members of the Social Awareness Club were present at the inaugural ceremony of blood donation program. There were a total 94 blood donors who were screened for Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, Syphilis, AIDS, Malaria at free of cost. The donors were also given a donor card from Quantum Foundation. In the afternoon, a Donor Award Giving Ceremony was arranged. Air Cdre (Retd.) Ishfaq Ilahi Choudhury, Director (DSW) was present as the chief guest of the ceremony. In his speech, he said that we should come forward for saving humanity by blood donation and appreciated the awareness of students in the voluntary blood donation program. Twelve donors were awarded for donating blood for at least three consecutive times.

Mahjabeen Gazi, Advisor, Social Awareness Club, and Dr. Engr. Md. Mahmudul Hasan, Member, Social Awareness Club worked together to make the program a success.
